About CCI
The Competition Commission of India [(CCI) established in October 14, 2003] is the chief national competition regulator in India. It is a statutory body within the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and is responsible for enforcing the Competition Act, 2002 in order to promote competition and prevent activities that have an appreciable adverse effect on competition in India.
Competition Commission of India (CCI), New Delhi, established in pursuance of the Competition Act, 2002, invites applications from eligible candidates for engagement of Young Professionals (YPs)/Expert on contract basis in the following fields:
Law/Economics/Financial Analysis: Young Professionals (Grade-I/II): 30
Forensic Audit: Expert (Grade-I): 01
Note: This post shall only highlight the details for the job description of YPs in Law. For other posts’ details, refer to the official notification.
30 (Thirty)
Young Professionals/Expert are initially required for a period of one year which can be further extended as per requirements.
They will assist the Commission in discharge of its functions under the Competition Act, 2002 and undertake such work/tasks as may be assigned to them from time to time.
Education Qualifications
Essential
Degree of LL.B or equivalent from a recognized University and/or Institute in India or abroad, recognized by the Bar Council of India.
Qualified to be registered as an advocate in any State Bar Council in India in terms of Advocates Act, 1961.
Desirable
Specialization in competition law or regulatory laws or laws relating to Intellectual Property Rights or International Trade Laws or Corporate Law or Financial Law etc.
Experience
Experience in judicial or legal work, in Supreme Court, High Court or any other Court, Government or a Regulatory Authority or a Tribunal or any similar forum; OR
Professor/Reader/Lecturer of Law of any recognized University/Professional Institute of India or abroad with specialization in teaching competition law; OR
Legal Manager or above in the Corporate sector having experience or handling acquisitions, mergers and amalgamations etc., under competition law.
Grade-I: Preferred experience of up to 3 years: ₹60,000/- with 10 percent increase on completion of each year
Grade-II: Preferred experience of minimum 3 years: ₹ 80,000/- with 10 percent increase on completion of each year
